Age of the Moon is a competitive strategy game set during the New Space Race, where players take on the role of world leaders racing to construct the first habitable base on the Moon. The focus lies on the resource-rich Lunar South Pole, forcing players to carefully balance technological development, resource management, and diplomacy.
Each round is divided into several phases that guide players closer to completing their lunar base. Players earn Lunars (the game’s currency) to purchase vital assets such as power plants, greenhouses, rovers, and rockets needed to transport equipment to the Moon. Negotiation cards allow players to form alliances or spark conflicts, creating a dynamic mix of cooperation and rivalry.
Rocket launches introduce risk through dice rolls that simulate the dangers of space travel and possible mission failures. Once deployed on the Moon, players operate their infrastructure, gather resources, and manage production and operating costs. Unexpected events at the end of each round can disrupt even the best strategies.
Players also earn International Community Points (ICP) through cooperation, adding a diplomatic dimension to the competition. The game ends when one player successfully builds and operates all four core modules of a fully habitable lunar base.
What makes Age of the Moon unique is its foundation in realistic scenarios based on expert research and future projections, delivering a strategic, immersive, and educational experience about humanity’s next great frontier.
