Following decades of global political friction, the world collapsed during the Great Nuclear War of 1989. Amid the devastation, ancient emergency protocols were reactivated, birthing the A.S.H.E.S. Protocol (Artificial Shelter & Human Evacuation Sequence)—a vast network of subterranean shelters aimed at protecting what remained of mankind. Two years later, surviving colonies struggle tirelessly to rescue stranded civilians, restore order, and complete Project Phoenix—humanity's final hope for surface restoration.
In A.S.H.E.S.: Blackout Protocol, players lead rival underground colonies across three intense rounds. On your turn, either perform an active protocol at your base (Worker Placement: Build Shelters, Install Phoenix Upgrades, or Rescue Survivors) or spend fuel to maneuver your Evacuation Vehicle across the radioactive wasteland (Pick-up & Deliver) to recover resources and civilians.
Balance short-term civilian rescue with long-term tech tree development. Beware of round-end radiation sweeps—unrescued survivors stranded on the surface will suffer from fallouts, decreasing your colony's Happiness. The player who manages their resources, missions, and shelter network most effectively wins!
