Step into six decisive decades of modern history! Imperial Elegy: The Road to the Great War 1850-1920 is a strategic multi-player card-driven wargame blending high-stakes diplomacy, statecraft, and grand warfare across the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Players command one of six major European powers: Germany/Prussia, the United Kingdom, France, Austria/Austria-Hungary, Russia, or the Ottoman Empire. (Italy, upon unification, is managed through unique global event rules). Spanning 7 main decade-long turns, the game can extend into up to 6 additional Great War turns if global conflict erupts.

Utilizing an impulse system, players play cards for their Command Points (CP) or historical events—colonizing territories, conducting alliances, fighting wars, or sabotaging opponents. Victory is claimed by accumulating Victory Points through unique National Goals or achieving an immediate Auto-Victory by taking control of key strategic territories. Designed primarily as a deep 6-player experience, Imperial Elegy scales seamlessly to lower player counts, including a full solitaire mode.
