Onward is the spiritual successor to Skytear, featuring a competitive card-driven gameplay system inspired by MOBA video games such as League of Legends and DOTA2.
Players split into two teams, with each player controlling two or more champions. The objective is to destroy the enemy nexus, a portal located within the opposing team’s base.
Maps feature two or three lanes that connect the nexuses. These corridors are populated by towers and minions from both teams.
Towers act as defensive structures that prevent enemy champions and minions from advancing directly into the nexus. Minions are weaker units that grow stronger in numbers and constantly push toward the enemy base while attacking opponents in their path.
Between the lanes are dangerous jungles where champions can fight monsters to gain gold and purchase powerful items. The river serves as a central battleground where champions can challenge a colossal outsider.
Games last approximately 45 to 90 minutes depending on the selected map.
