In Celtic legend, the faefolk align themselves with courts of influence over ancient lands. The Seelie Court represents spring and growth, while the Unseelie Court embodies cold and trickery.
In Pacts, two players take command of one of these rival courts and engage in a battle of wits and strategy. Before the game begins, each player gains the aid of powerful mythological creatures such as dragons, banshees, and selkies, each granting unique abilities to shape the conflict.
Each round, cards are dealt and one player divides the possible actions into two piles, while the opponent chooses which set each player receives. Players place, move, and remove influence across six regions of the island, competing for majority control of these sacred lands.
Scoring occurs after three and six rounds, and the player with the highest total influence becomes the new ruler of the isle.
