Playing over three dynamic rounds, players navigate a modular sea grid, hire skilled crew members, ally with rival ships, explore coastlines, and hoard valuable treasures including emeralds, gold, and pearls. To secure victory, you must strategically bury your loot on remote islands before rival buccaneers outpace you to port.

While fans of the original game will recognize iconic elements, Pirates of Maracaibo features a streamlined, more accessible rule set with higher tactical flexibility, making it easy for new players to jump straight into the action.
