Total War is the first expansion for the second edition of Quartermaster General, offering a wide range of new strategic options while keeping the game fast and accessible.
The most significant addition is the introduction of Air Forces, which add a new dimension to the conflict. Air Forces can defend Armies and Navies in the same space or engage adjacent enemy Air Forces in battle.
The expansion also introduces new factions, including Chinese and French forces, expanding and altering the initial setup and opening up new strategic possibilities. Another major addition is the Bolster cards, a new type of card played directly from hand as a reaction to ongoing gameplay, adding an important tactical layer.
Finally, the expansion includes alternate “what if” cards that reflect historical strategies that were considered but never executed, such as Operation Sea Lion, the planned invasion of Britain.
Despite these additions, Quartermaster General: Total War remains easy to learn and quick to set up, while significantly increasing replayability and strategic depth.
