Delve into Schadenfreude, a clever and punishing trick-taking card game for 3 to 5 players. The game ends as soon as any player scores more than 40 points, and the winner is whoever is closest to 40 without going over!

Featuring a deck with negative value cards, no trump suits, and a strict "must follow" rule, Schadenfreude turns traditional trick-taking on its head. The winner of a trick is the player who plays the second highest card of the lead suit. The winner collects their card and any off-suit cards into a score pile.

However, catch the twist: a player can hold at most one card of each rank in their score pile. If you ever collect a duplicate rank, both cards are permanently discarded instead! At the end of a hand, players score points equal to the sum of the ranks of their collected cards. Fast-paced (15–20 minutes) and highly tactical, it's a fan-favorite on Board Game Arena.
