Map Expansion for the Board Game Toy Battle.
Czech version, the expansion is language-independent.
La Croisette introduces a new battle terrain for the base game of Souboj hraček (Toy Battle). The map is inspired by the famous promenade in Cannes, France, pitting your armies against each other amidst the sea, luxury yachts, and buildings reminiscent of a major film festival venue. The core rules and victory conditions remain unchanged—you still strive to capture your opponent's headquarters or claim a set number of medals.
However, the new layout of the bases significantly changes the path to achieving these goals:
Reinforcements from Reserve: Certain spaces allow you to draw one unit from your supply and place it in your cardholder. The holder can accommodate a maximum of eight units, so this effect cannot be used if it would cause you to exceed the allowed limit.
Tactical Disruption: Another base allows you to point to a unit in your opponent's cardholder without knowing its identity. The opponent places it face down, and they cannot use it on their following turn. At the end of the turn, the unit returns to the holder, but while disabled, it still counts toward the eight-unit limit. A well-timed strike can completely disrupt the enemy's plans.
Exclusive Zones: Two special bases only accept a joker or units with a strength of 4, 5, 6, or 7. Furthermore, the abilities of units placed on these spaces are not activated. You will have to carefully consider whether to sacrifice a stronger toy to advance through a restricted base or use its abilities elsewhere.
La Croisette preserves the fast-paced nature of the base game while introducing new layers of decision-making regarding unit selection and attack direction.
