The SpeedStacks G5 Pro Timer features several improvements in addition to its new sensors, making it more durable and reliable for speedcubing.

The reset and power buttons must now be held down for approximately half a second to activate. This helps prevent accidental presses when competitors quickly place their hands on the timer after completing a solve. Both buttons have also been reinforced to reduce wear over time.

The cord used to connect the timer to a computer or display now plugs in underneath the timer, reducing the risk of accidentally pulling it out. The cord is not included. Improved mounts also secure the timer more firmly to the mat, helping prevent the two from coming loose accidentally.

How to use the timer

• Turn on the timer, place your hands on the pressure pads, and wait for the signal that it is ready.
• Lift your hands from the pads to start the timer, then begin solving your cube.
• Once you finish, quickly place your hands back on the pads to stop the timer.
• To time another solve, press the reset button.

To turn off the two thumb sensors, hold down the reset button for 5 seconds. Repeat the same procedure to activate them again.
