Threads of Fate is a remastered version of PostCurious’ acclaimed debut game, The Tale of Ord. It combines escape room puzzles, board game mechanics, and interactive fiction into a narrative experience told across four episodes.
Players take on the role of a private investigator tasked with finding two missing professors from the Emerens Institute. As the investigation unfolds, information emerges about a mysterious relic discovered by an archaeological team, presenting an opportunity to alter the course of destiny.
Using a collection of letters, articles, drawings, websites, and unusual artifacts, players follow clues and uncover the supernatural forces connected to Norse mythology. Along the way, they seek to reveal the truth behind the disappearances.
Throughout the story, mysterious glyphs gradually reveal their meaning as players solve puzzles and uncover secrets related to fate and time. Each episode contains a variety of puzzles with different levels of difficulty that drive the narrative forward.
Threads of Fate can be played solo or cooperatively with a group. The game is divided into four chapters, each taking approximately 2–3 hours to complete, for a total playtime of 8–12 hours.
